Two beloved family members have Cystic Fibrosis, shaping my understanding of the illness from a young age. Witnessing my cousin's daily struggles with chest compressions due to thickened mucus left a lasting impression. Despite his challenges, his resilient spirit and positive outlook inspired me profoundly. Researching Cystic Fibrosis in 5th grade further deepened my awareness and lifelong compassion. Tragically, we lost my cousin to the disease in 2014. Recently, the birth of my cousin's son has reaffirmed the strength of family support and the need for change. While advancements like the groundbreaking drug TRIKAFTA® have brought hope, the fight against Cystic Fibrosis continues.
